Khartoum: leit-werk continues to support Dorsch Consult during the implementation of the New Khartoum International Airport. The design of the Passenger terminal is currently reviewed and will be prepared to meet the requirements of key financing organisations.


Planning application: leit-werk's design proposals for a 4 star hotel, spa and village development for the new, Santa Monica Beach Hotel, Boa Vista, Cape Verde, will be submitted for planning early July. More details under buildings on our web page.

Euroforum conference about airport cities in Frankfurt, Germany - Henrik Rothe (MD) gave a paper about leit-werk’s vision for a new approach to sequential airport development.

Richard Chapman of ADC is now working with leit-werk on aviation projects, following a long-standing collaborative relationship since 2001. Richard is an expert in the field of airport and terminal planning with a high level of understanding, knowledge and capability in the planning and design of passenger terminals, their capacity calculation, size calculation and the integration of commercial and operational requirements.

Honorable Mention for our entry at the design competition for new Lublin airport, Poland. The jury welcomed the urban approach integrating a public piazza in front of the terminal.

Unveiling of the 1:200 model of the KNIA passenger terminal in Khartoum

Venice Biennale: leit-werk is invited to present recent projects at the DARK SIDE, a critical salon hosted by the Architectural Review and White Partners, London. Members of the debating panel were renowned architects Bernhard Tschumi, Matthias Sauerbruch, Wolf Prix and architectural critic Aaron Betsky.

leit-werk is invited to take part in the London Architecture Biennale. An installation around the URBAN CARPET will be on display at St Pancras Station and the German Gymnasium.

By end of 03/06 the current status of the design works for the new international airport in Khartoum, Sudan will be presented to the Sudanese client before submitting tender documents to the shortlisted EPC contractors. On 15th November 2005 the master plan was introduced to the public at Sharja Hall in the Sudanese capital.
