Urban concept and master plan for Albena Holiday Resort, Bulgaria. Commission.

The master plan for the holiday resort aims to rationalise the existing facilities within a new urban concept and to generate a new image and identity for the resort. Based on specific topography, five different zones are established.

Two activity lines, the East-West and the North-South axes, are identified as a planning device for major development. As Albena is to become an all year round holiday centre, innovative new programmes will be integrated into the existing place.
